John 15:26-27 26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: 27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning
John 14:16-21 16 And I will pray the Father , and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; 17 even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. 21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
16:13-16 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of Truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said i, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 16 A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.
The Holy Spirit's ministry to the believer is more important NOW than Christ's ministry was to the disciples (John 14:16-17)
The Spirit "OF THE TRUTH" - John 14:17a - Refers to the WORD OF GOD! The Spirit of God IS TRUTH; The Word of God is TRUTH; Christ IS THE TRUTH! 1 John 5:6
The World cannot receive - The Holy Spirit cannot come into the heart of the unbeliever until that individual makes Christ their Saviour!
But YOU KNOW HIM! - But you shall get to know HIM! A. HE DWELLS WITH YOU - Before the cross he was WITH - After Pentecost he would be WITHIN! (That is why we are so blessed as NT saints!) B. AND SHALL BE IN YOU - From Pentecost forward because the sin debt was paid by Christ on the cross! C. I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU COMFORTLESS (HELPLESS); D. I WILL COME TO YOU (Through the Holy Spirit)
John 14:19- 20 - After The Resurrection - the Holy Spirit would COME and they would see CHRIST in the Person of the Holy Spirit!
Relation to Christ the son - the spirit of Christ (2); The Spirit of Jesus; the spirit of Jesus Christ; the spirit of His son; another comforter
His deity - the SPIRIT (99); the same spirit (6); The one spirit (5); The Eternal Spirit; the seven spirits (4) The Holy Ghost (73); The Holy Spirit (17); The Holy one
To the BELIEVER - The Spirit of Truth (4); The Comforter (3); The spirit of holiness; the spirit of life; the spirit of adoption; the spirit of faith; the spirit of praise; the spirit of wisdom and revelation; the spirit of power and discipline; the spirit of GRACE and SUPPLICATION; the spirit of whom he made to dwell in us; The spirit of grace and GLORY; the anointing (2)
The Spirit is God just as God the Father and God the son are God. A. He is Eternal Uncreated; Divine - (Heb. 9:14) B. He is omnipresence everywhere (Psalms 139:7-10) C. He is omniscience - All knowing (1 Cor. 2:10, 11; Isaiah 40:13, 14, Romans 8:26, 27) D. He is Omnipotent - the power of the spirit is the POWER OF GOD! (Zech. 4:6; Luke 11:20 - the "FINGER OF GOD" E. Holiness - God is HOLY; HIS SPIRIT IS HOLY! (Eph 4:30) F. Foreknowledge - He knows before man does - Acts 1:16 - The Holy Spirit BY the mouth of David spoke of JUDAS; Acts 11:27-28 G. Sovereignty - Lord of ALL, Just as God is LORD OF ALL - In Acts - The SPIRIT SAITH (Acts 13:2-4, 2 Cor. 3:!7 - Rev. 2:7- What the SPIRIT SAITH to the CHURCH!)
The Son glorifies the Father; The Spirit glorifies the SON! John 16:13-15; John 6:29; :29, 42; 9:4; 17:8-
The believer GLORIFIES ALL THERE WITH CHRIST INSIDE US INDWELLING THE BELIEVER BY THE HOLY SPIRIT! GOD IN US THE HOPE OF GLORY!
