Sunday PM Service - Nahash, The Bright Shining Serpent, That Old Serpent The Devil

Text: 1 Samuel 11:2-15
Nahash is Hebrew for "Bright shining serpent" - Same term in Genesis 3:1-3
As such Satan seeks to destroy God's people and individual souls
He first appeared to Eve as an "Angel of Light" - 2 Corinthians 11:14
The Lust of the flesh - "Good for food"
Lust of the eyes - "Pleasant to the eyes"
Pride of life - "You shall be as gods"
"Knowing GOOD and EVIL! - Old tactic still in play today
Eyes were opened and they knew they were naked - Satan attacked the word of God
The disobedience to God caused the fall
The serpent is cursed but it's beauty remains in deceitful form! 1 John 5:19 - And we know that we are of god, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
