Sunday AM Meeting Time - God Has Spoken In These Last Days By His Son - 07/24

Text: Hebrews 1:1-3, Amos 3:6-7

Hebrews 1:1-3 1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

Amos 3:6-7 6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it? 7 Surely the LORD GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

I The Revelation of God

1. God in Genesis "In the beginning;" In Hebrews "GOD"

2. From the beginning God set in place the story of Redemption!

3. "First, does God speak concerning any matter)? Second, what does He say!"

4. Hear, and your soul shall LIVE" is the theme of the Bible as it pertains to God's redemptive plan!

5. Fools deny God has spoken; most of humanity and the church ignores HIM!

II. Sundry Times - The Manner of this Revelation

1. God Revealed this great Redemptive plan in separate Revelations!

2. One would be given a Revelation and then later another would be given added to the first

3. He spoke to Israel one way through Moses, and another through Isaiah; etc, Same Message different vehicles!

4. It was progressive - Form of:

A. Law

B. Prophecy.

C. Psalms

D. Sign

E. Type

F. Parables

"The People of Israel were like man listening to clock striking the hour, always getting nearer the Truth but obliged to wait till the whole was heard." - THE WHOLE WAS JESUS CHRIST.

III. The Prophets of OLD

1. Samuel was officially the first but others before him were used in a prophetic manner

2. Abraham, Abel (Hebrews 11:4)

3. Through the prophets of od the Lord guided His work!

4. Why Israel was at a loss for 400 years between Malachi and John the Baptist - who was the "greatest" pointing Israel to the Lamb of God

5. While the office of the Prophet is still valid today they are no relegated to a lesser role - WHY?

6. ALL OT Predictions that were basically pointing TO THE COMING CHRIST were fulfilled in CHRIST!

God SPOKE:

1. Moses - The Burning Bush

2. Elijah - Still Small Voice

3. Isaiah - Vision in Temple

4. Hosea - Family

5. Amos - Basket of Summer Fruit

6. Urim and Thummim

7. Dreams, Visions

8. Natural Events

9. Angelic Visitations

10. Pillars of Fire, Smoke

11. Appeared EVERYWHERE, EVERY which means

HE SPEAKS TO US TODAY THROUGH THE SON! And the HOLY SPIRIT - The Word of God
