How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Matthew 17:5-7
While he yet spake,
behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them:
and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said,
this is my beloved Son, in whom
I am well pleased; hear ye him. And when the disciples heard it,
they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise and be not afraid.
Matthew 17:10-17
And his disciples asked him, saying, why then say the scribes that Elias must first come? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. But I say unto you, that Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.
Matthew 17: 14-17
And when they were come to the multitude,
there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him,
and saying, Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes
he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.
And I brought him to thy
disciples, and they could not cure him. Then Jesus answered and said,
O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
2 Corinthians 4:6
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness,
hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the
glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
John 16:14
He shall glorify me:
for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
Exodus 40:34-35
Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation,
and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
Moses was unable to enter the Tent of Meeting
because the cloud had settled on it,
and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle
A bright cloud appears and "OVERSHADOWS" The three demonstrating the Shechinah, a token of the presence of God which had appeared over the tabernacle of Moses
The CLOUD was a type of the coming "Shechinah" or GLORY that came in the person of the Holy Ghost! (Acts 2:4)
The CLOUD was a fore view of the Holy Spirit's work in GLORIFYING CHRIST (John 16:14)
The CLOUD and the GLORY was BECAUSE OF CHRIST
THE VOICE OUT of the cloud SPEAKS - It's God the Father
(Trinity is in view here) God speaking, Jesus the Son glorified, the cloud, a type of the Holy Spirit (FROM WHICH GOD SPEAKS)
GOD SPEAKS AND SAYS "THIS IS MY BELOVED SON, IN WHOM I AM WELL PLEASED" (Matthew 3:17) - Same words they heard at the baptism of Christ!
"HEAR YE HIM," - "HEAR HIM" in Luke
God will not have even the greatest of saints associated with HIS SON in worship or TEACHING!
Men Are Commanded To Listen To Authoritative Teachers And Prophets Instead Of Christ!
11. Peter In Matthew 16:18 and 22 Rebuked Christ For Dying – Now Seeing The Glory Of God, He Understood Neither – The Satanic Nature Of Man NEVER DOES
12. The Carnal Nature Can Mirror Satan, That Is, An Adversary TO THE CROSS and to the TRUE GLORY!
13. The Carnal Nature Refuses To Die To the World!
14. A Christian Who Is Not Dead To The World Is An “OFFENSE”, A Stumbling Block To Those Seeking To Truly Serve Christ!

And they moved on from Succoth and encamped at Etham,
on the edge of the wilderness.
And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them
along the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light,
that they might travel by day and by night.
The pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night did not depart from before the people.

So that the priests

7. They Were “Talking With Him” About His “Decease” Referring To His Crucifixion – The Law And The Prophets POINT TO THE CROSS!!
8. Elijah And Moses Talked To The Lord About The CROSS!!!!! SO SHOULD THE CHURCH!!!!
9. Everything Depended On This; The Law Pointed TO Man’s Salvation But Could NOT Bring It About!
10. The Holy Spirit’s Descent Depended on The CROSS
11. The Coming Resurrection of LIFE Depended ON THE CROSS!

13. The Power Of God On This Mountain Caused The Disciples TO Fall Into A Deep Sleep Awaken To This Great Event – Dead In Christ Shall Awake To Glory!!!

Matthew 17:3-4 - And, behold, there
appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. Then answered Peter,
and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt,
let us make here three tabernacles;
one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
Luke 9:29-30 - And, behold, there talked
with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:
Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease
which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.
1. This Glory The Disciples Saw Was Not From Without But From Within! The Miracle Was Not The Transfiguration But The Hiding Of The Glory By Christ! (Human-Divine – 100% of Both)
2. This Event Was Paramount In The Ministry Of Christ Similar To His Earthly Baptism
3. Here His Glory Is Revealed To Three Disciples That Denotes The Royal Presence And God’s APPROVAL on His SON!
4. The Kingdom of God Was In the MIDST of His People
5. When Christ Is Inside You As A Believer, The Kingdom of God IS WITHIN YOU!
6. His Face Shining Was Similar To What John Would See In Revelation 1:16 “As The Sun,” And “In His Strength”
7. This Is The Glory That Shines In Our Hearts As Believers And Must Shine To Those Who Are Lost (Jesus Must Be Lifted Up!) (2 Cor. 4:6)
8. “Raiment” Was White As The Light, Meaning His Garment Shown As White (Revelation 1:9-19)
9. “Light” – “Stilbo” Means LIVING LIGHT
10. He Was Transfigured From A SERVANT To DEITY Because HE IS DEITY – The LIGHT CAME FROM WITHIN!!!
11. This Will Be How He Shall Appear In His Coming Kingdom Glory In The Kingdom Age!
12. All The Time A Servant, All The Time God; The Glory Rested Upon Him Because He Was A Servant (Phil 2:8-9)

And it came to pass
about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James,
and went up into a mountain to pray.
And as he prayed, the fashion of his
countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering

8. The Lord Brings These Three Up To A “High Mountain Apart” Possibly Mt. Tabor As Some Believe. Some Have Alluded It May Have Been Olivet Where The Lord Will Return
10. At The Base Of This Mountain Jesus Delivered A Boy From Demon Spirits; Same Mountain That Jesus Prayed, Sought His Father, Meditated On The Scriptures

and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
And was transfigured before them:
and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.

Moses and Elias talking with him.
